Miso Green Beans

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 2-3 garlic cloves minced
  • 1 lb green beans trimmed
  • 1 ½ tablespoon white miso paste
  • 2 teaspoon water
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • ¼ to ½ teaspoon Taekyung Red Pepper Powder coarse Korean red pepper flakes, to taste

Instructions

  • Warm up a large frying pan on medium high heat with sesame oil.
  • Once oil is warm, add garlic cloves and cook until caramelized, 1-2 minutes.
  • Add green beans to the hot pan, toss and cook until beans start to brown, 5-8 minutes.
  • Place a lid onto frying pan and allow the green beans to steam for 5 minutes.
  • Toss green beans and cover the frying pan again until the green beans are a bright green and are tender crisp, about 5 minutes.
  • Meanwhile, mix the white miso paste, water and sugar into a thick sauce.
  • When green beans are tender crisp, pour the miso sauce onto the beans. Sprinkle (to taste) Taekyung Red Pepper Powder onto the green beans.
