You’re curious! And I bet you don’t even have a bucket of ice cream close by. Haha! All kidding aside, these dill pickle wings are not run of the mill and SO DELICIOUS!

I admit I have wrinkled my nose to the notion previously, but marinating or brining items in dill pickle juice is not nearly as strange as it sounds. The vinegar tang balances with sweet and savory.

Dill Pickle Chicken Wings and Dill Pickle Dip

Dill Pickle Chicken Wings

Sweet, savory and a balanced vinegar tang by using the dill pickle brine.

Equipment

  • Smoker or BBQ or Grill

Ingredients
  

  • 2.5 lbs chicken wings
  • 2 cups dill pickle juice
  • 1/4 cup Favorite sweet spice rub

Dill Pickle Dip

  • ½ cup sour cream
  • 3 tablespoons dill pickle diced fine
  • 1 tablespoon dill pickle juice
  • 4 tablespoons fresh dill
  • 3 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ¼ teaspoon salt

Instructions
 

  • Marinate for chicken wings in dill pickle juice in a large freezer bag for 1 hour
  • Meanwhile, in a small bowl, stir all dill pickle dip ingredients together and set aside in the fridge.
  • Warm up smoker, grill or BBQ to 350F.
  • Liberally season chicken wings with your favorite sweet spice rub.
  • Cook chicken wings on one side for 15 minutes.
  • Flip wings on the grill for 10 minutes.
  • Flip chicken wings and cook for at least another 10 minutes until wings are at least 180F internally and sizzling on the outside.
  • Serve chicken wings with the dill pickle dip.
